Oregon City School District is proud to recognize Dan Lau and Juliana Inglish of Clackamas Academy of Industrial Sciences (CAIS) as recipients of this year’s Strategic Plan Staff Awards.

Dan received the district’s Student Impact Award, while Juliana was honored with the Real-World Connected Award. Together, their recognition reflects the student-centered, hands-on learning environment at CAIS and the school’s commitment to helping students thrive in the classroom and beyond.

The Student Impact Award recognizes staff members whose work makes a meaningful difference in students’ learning, engagement and sense of possibility. Dan Lau’s recognition celebrates the relationships, encouragement and instructional support he provides to students each day. Through a student-first approach, he helps create learning experiences that support students in building confidence, strengthening skills and making progress toward their goals.

Dan’s award aligns with OCSD’s Strategic Plan priority of Instructional Excellence. This priority focuses on effective, inclusive teaching; student voice and agency; and learning experiences that help every student grow. The Student Impact Award recognizes the direct and lasting difference staff members make when they center student needs, strengths and success.

Juliana Inglish received the Real-World Connected Award for helping students connect their learning to authentic experiences, practical skills and future opportunities. Her work at CAIS reflects the value of making learning relevant—helping students understand how classroom concepts, technical skills and hands-on learning can support the college, career and life pathways they choose after graduation.

Juliana’s recognition connects to the district’s Strategic Plan priority of Career & College Readiness. This area focuses on ensuring students have access to career exploration, relevant learning experiences and the support needed to graduate prepared for their next steps. The Real-World Connected Award celebrates staff members who help students see the connections between what they learn in school and the opportunities ahead.
